With five of the MB Team and a new Gung Ho Pro (our tame Pro driver) testing six top kits and a seventh wild card in the form of Cabbie's Revo Derived Truggy we evaluate each kits, pass comments, score them in five categories and finally let you know in which order we would buy them!<more>

Round 3 of the BRCA UK Truggy Pro Championship took place in the idilic location of Ledbury near the English border with Wales. Over 100 racers gambled that the weather would be good for this event and their faith was rewarded with a beautifully sunny day with only a brief shower in the morning during the first round of heats. As always the short burst rain made tyre selection somewhat tricky with some drivers going out with Proline Maxx Mulchers and Panther Meat Grinders. The fastest drivers stuck with Proline BowTie MTR and Holeshot MTR.

At the end of the first round of qualification Sirio powered Simon Willets with his Hong Nor X1-CRT snatched the best time from Elliot Boots by less than 2 tenths of a second seperating them. Alsop took the best time in round 2 but it was to be the RB powered Kyosho ST-RR of Elliot Boots that was to take TQ from Graham with an amazing 3 seconds to spare. An absolute fantastic drive from Elliot.

In the clubmans Sham Choudry drove his Mugen to perfection and took top spot on the day making him a strong contender for the clubmans championship. Manufacturers you need to sign this guy up!

With the sun beating down on the dirt/grass combination track dust levels were high! Bumping into the A final was driver of the day Mark Dell who bumped all the way from the C final with his Recab powered Losi Eight. Along side MK Racing's Marc Knight bumped into the A final after taking second place in the B final.

The A final kicked off with a little bit of jossling on the first corner however most of the drivers got through the first lap but Tommy Chung lost a shock and his race was over. Adrian Svenson jumped 4 places with his Mugen but later retired. With Cradock also out all Kyosho hopes were pinned on Boots, who from lap 5 held on to take third place.

First and second place was impossible to call throughout the race. Hazlewood with his Recab powered XT-8, took the lead from Boots in lap 4 and held on to the first pitstop where Alsop, running the new Hyper ST Pro, then took the lead, this was to be for only one lap as Alsop pitted shortly after Hazlewood.
The lead swapped a few times with no more than 6 seconds seperating the current joint leaders in the UK Truggy Pro Championship. After the final round of pitstops Hazlewood look liked he had it in the bag until an mis-understanding with a back marker cost him the lead with less than 5 laps to go. Jon put the pressure on Graham right to the end but Alsop held his nerve to take the round 3 win. Alsop leads the UK Truggy Pro with one point to spare.

Going into round 4 at Clanfield both Hazlewood and Alsop have it all to play for. Round 4 takes place on the 30th of September with both drivers need to take TQ and the win to be 100% assured of the championship.

In the Monster Truck Championship Phil "weeman" McMahon took the win with Championship leader Ben Champion in second place. Allen Wong took TQ. As above Phil and Ben both need to take TQ and the win to be 100% assured of the championship.

Spectators are welcome at round 4 which is shaping up to be one of the most exciting championship climax in some time.

The BRCA would like to thank LMCC and all the helpers on the day (including some fantastic track fixing during the A final from Team MaxBashing).
