a good marshal wont be distracted by having a drink,he will choose the right moment when its quiet around him to have a quick drink..a bad marshal doesnt need an excuse to be bad.

marshalling has to be the simplest thing going..you watch them into your area, you watch them out of your area and when its quiet watch other close sections just incase some numpty is asleep on duties.

i always try to take a drink out with me when its warm during long finals..dehydration causes muscle cramps and slower reaction times, you dont want the marshal to be slow now do you

Fags and phones should (and usually are) banned from tracks while marshalling - seen far too many people trying to flick a car over with a foot or 1 hand because they're too busy sending a text or whatever to do the job properly - christ enough people can't manage to put a car back on the track facing the right way when they've got 2 hands free!! I know some people can't go half an hour without a fag, but it's a bit less 'live or die' than doing without water when it's that hot Guess who's an ex-smoker lol
LOL @ Ex smoker - I can multi-task and hold a fag in my mouth while marshalling LOL but we have to abide by the rules as I for one dn't want to be disqualified or escorted of the track

Whats all this bollox going on in here
The threads about rd3 of the Ukpro not a NHS hot weather warning.
Yeah its hot so drink extra fluid, its not rocket science
Neil runs a tight ship, he cant see every incident. I was poorly marshaled a few times but my fault i required a marshal.
I actually saw some really good driving manners. A couple of infringements and the guilty truck then waited while the impeded car was back in front of them and also where a truck had left the track with no way back to where it had come from it waited while the few behind him were back in front then carried on...all good stuff
