Managed to do some real track testing today down Clanfield with some of the club members, had a great reaction to the prototype very positive feedback which was great!

Did two heating tests with cold engines, the first was a new just run in V-spec which was in a Hyper 8.5, first off took a cold temp reading which was 93F (car had been run about 15 mins ago) fitted the Sure-Start with the body on the car and turned it on and timed 5 Mins.

Result after 5 mins was 165F at the glowplug, the engine started very quickly and was up to running temps almost instantly!!

The second test was on a fairly new OS Speed fitted to an Xray 808, again took a cold reading of 77F then fitted the Sure-Start (again with bodyshell fitted) after 5 mins removed the Sure-Start and took a reading of 158F at the glow, so removed the bodyshell and was reading 120F at the casing so a nice temp even to the lower parts of the engine. Body shell was re-fitted and the engine started instantly and needed hardly any warming before going out on track.

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement today and for allowing me to test on their pride and joy.

I have a couple of pics of it running on the 808 to post up later, Jamie whos on this forum took them so hopefully he can post them up for me

As John stated about, I got a few snaps from today-Please note there from a IPhone camera so not great quality+Unclean car

Here are a few pics taken from today's Top Secret test session
Here is the Sure-Start working its magic on my Xray 808, I can vouch for sure that it made starting my O.S. A breeze.
It was ready to go from the 1st moment is started, perfectly upto temp. It makes, the whole warming engine procedure alot less pain.. standing there blipping the throttle. All you need is plug in and switch it on 5 mins before your heat starts. And go pester your buddies standing around like lemmings warming there's up the old way! -Please note this is the 1st prototype-So may well change from final product.

It makes life alot easier, and I cant wait to get my grubby mits on one! once it's made, the other test victim's V-Spec Start very quick considering it was its 1st few tanks. I honestly can't say enough to recommend this to your RC itinerary.. Will make engine break in's a breeze as a heat gun the heat is in 1 spot... but with the Sure-Start, its get a very wide broad coverage.. which heats everything including the case. Which helps, on that initial Impact of a cold engine at TBC. So will save pinch aswell! + Fuel on intitial warm up.

Hope this gives a bit more of a insight into the new Sure-Start... A must have specially for winter racing!

Looks ace! Gotta have one! That must save atleast a gallon of engine life if used each time before you start it up.....probably even more

Yea it wont do any harm that is for sure! It is a winner in my books, was very impressed with the quality of the Product, considering its a prototype. There are a few small things John is altering slighly but its a fantastic thing, specially for the price.. The other big plus-is the fact can be used with the shell on too.. which is a extra bonus.. less hassle before your heat ect fiddling with clips ect. And another + people overlook is that it should in theory be easier and a more consistant on the tune side. Granted aslong as outside temps are same.. it will be easier to tell if you need to richen or lean a tad.. with it being upto the temp needed. So there should be less tune worries when using it too..(Within reason)

Thanks for the pics Jamie they have come out very well. This works very efficiently and needs to be attended at all times while it’s running, It’s all common sense really TBH, you wouldn’t leave a heat gun running on your engine and wonder off would you.

Thanks again for putting your car forward today for testing Jamie From the pics your going to need a blue one mate hehe, Shall i put you down for one
