Most if not all racers want as many rounds as possible on any track they do not race on, but time is the limiting factor as always.
Were the qualifying times to long?
No, its a perfect qualifying time (7min), it rewards consistent and clean driving and reduces the banzai 5min runners, as does not stress out the non 10min runners .
Were the Finals Long enough or too long?
Long finals are fine, I agree with other comments above, (if time is available!) and as long as people know from the start they can work out their stops and time qualifying runs. I think its an interesting concept recently I have encountered 3 different race meetings with 25min and 35min finals, this for sure makes people re-evaluate their final strategy with many of todays nitro engines able to manage the 10min run time with ease. This again, maybe, will push the boundary's even further who knows.
Very Good Race Meeting, it is a long way to travel but its a very good track, wide, open, fast and good fun one I enjoyed last year. Hats off to the guys and girls at the track and Glyn and crew for their efforts.
Not in my eyes it gave us all a good chance to get a good quali even for those who had problems during the day.
Were the qualifying times to long?
Not in my eyes as gave me a chance to get into a rythem and watch my times improve as the heat went on.
Were the Finals Long enough or too long?
I loved the fact that there was going to be 35 minute finals as this throws the pit stratagy wide open.
All in all i had a great weekend and am already counting the days down to my home track Kent and hopefully a better final result without my steering servo deciding its going to spit a gear out 1 minute into the final
