Got to say I thoroughly enjoyed the whole weekend, eight rounds of qualifying with enough time in between heats to change set-up/make repairs/charge batteries etc, and long finals for all.
This was a relaxed, professionally run meeting and I encourage truggy drivers of all abilities to take part, lastly I would like to thank the guys/girls at Talywain racers for their warm welcome and to Glyn and his team for all their hard work.
Oh and track was excellent especially the"hill"
Cheers

As PRO I don't want to sound too biased, so I'll be try to be impartial.
The track:
As you drive up, the first thing that hits you is the size of the hill. Absolutely awesome!! Great camping area and the club house was really nice to sit in as the weather got a bit chilly in the evening.
A combination of dirt and astro means that tyre choice was a challenge but eveyone is in the same boat.
My only critisism with the track was the Pit lane entrance. From the furthest point away on the rostrum, it is impossible to see your car going up the pit entrance, and being so narrow, getting in cleanly was a challenge for me.
The drivers:
Truely worthy of a BRCA national event in the main. I was shocked at just how quickly the drivers got to grips with the track, and the display of driving skill that they put on (I felt a touch out of my depth TBH). Having said that, there is no substitute for being on the track with the some of the best drivers in the UK. My speed improved massively thanks to watching the faster guys lines and seeing how throttle control can make such a difference over a series of bumps.
I learnt a massive amount about my car and how to drive it this weekend.
Also, I have to mention the difference in driver behaviour!! There wass none of the swearing and shouting you often get at club level. Drivers were composed and the marshalling was, in general, very good, a credit to all who attended.
The atmosphere:
Great! the local lads are a funny bunch who will sit around and have a laugh, the Herts crew were hilarious (I never knew all those facts about daddy longlegs) and the craic in the evening was ace. The highlight has to be Glyn leaving his computer switched on and logged in to Maxbashing! by the time he realised what was going on it really was too late
The Racing:
Two things to mention hear for me.
Firstly the way the meeting was run. Massive credit to Glyn and the guys from Talywaine. I think the word is smoooooooooooth. Apart from a false start in the D final, there wasn't a hitch all weekend. There was a huge amount of track time, set up time and general chit chat time. The finals were long, and if you got a bump up you were on the rostrum for an hour and 10 minutes!!!! Thankfully though, there was plenty of refueling and changing battery time.
Secondly, the display of driving during the races. The racing was close, clean and exciting. Pit strategies meant that the lead changed to and fro and there was a great tension as to the outcome. Nice to see the likes of Josh Powney, an unsponsored driver, getting up there with the best in the country, and socking it to them. Somebody needs to get the lad signed, cause he's definately one to watch IMHO.
All in all a fantastic weekend for very little money. All in I'd say I spent £100including fuel to get to the track.
Big thanks to Glyn and the Talywaine team, also, I must thank my pit man. Cheers fella, hope you enjoy that beer!!
