    Default making 4wd 2wd

Guys got an xtm xlb buggy with a knackered front diff, if i were to remove the driver shafts making it just rear wheel drive what would be the end result in handling? Looking for a cheap fix?

You'll need to lock up the centre diff. Either really thick oil or you may be able to use something like bluetac.

You need to lock the front diff. Permanent lock would be araldite, or you could try blu tac.

As for handling, it wouldnt really have any, and if the power wrecked the front diff, diverting it all to the rear will most certainly wreck the rear diff

    Thanks

    WHY !??!?

all you need to do is lock the centre and remove the front shafts and front centre shaft. All you really need up front is the axles.

Who said the power killed the front diff?!?!? It could of easily been killed and was more likely killed by poor maintenance (shimming, bearings) etc.

Making it 2WD like this will send all power to the back and it wont handle great... try not to over rev the engine etc when you've got the arse end drifting about all over the place or you may pop it.

Best bet would be to fix it properly or buy something which is better quality...

Sorry, simple mistake, meant to say centre

Im not sure what killed the front diff, but from what ive heard and experienced with the XTM, the diffs arent the toughest.

Putting all of the power through the rear diff, will most definately put the diff under more stress and make it more likely to break.
