Nitro to brushless conversion; Hong Nor X1CR build thread.
Well this may get a bit long winded but here goes.
About a year ago I bought two Hong Nor X1CR's, one was complete the other was a roller... Anyway, my intentions were to run the nitro one that was complete, whilst I was converting the roller to brushless, but I lost interest in buggies pretty much all together when I got my Savage, I just enjoyed the truck far too much to get pleasure out of a small low to the ground style buggy.
So anyway I sold them both to the same person, he then parted everything out, to several different people, and that was that.
Over the past few months I have been wanting to actually do a nitro to electric conversion, I had quite a lot of options, Hyper 7/8/9 or St, any number of different Hong Nors and Losi's etc etc... And decided to try tracking one down, after months of searching, I have finally managed to find the original roller I wanted to turn into electric, so I'm actually going to do it this time, albeit a year late!
So yeah I can't believe I finally managed to track it down, and as luck would have it the fella who owns it very kindly offered to split it for me so I could have the roller, as he was also very keen to see the brushless conversion happen.
Not actually got it yet as it's only just been paid for, so no pictures or anything like it, will get some as soon as it arrives.
For what of a better cliché, I really am like a little kid on Christmas eve!
This will be the actual build thread also, so keep an eye out for it
I'm going to be keeping a record of what I have spent, and if I manage to sell anything, then put it on too, and see what the entire thing costs me at the end (this isn't some kind of show off thing, just for a bit of fun to do the total  )
Spent so far.
Roller; £63.
7 sets of wheels and tyres; £45.
Big bore shocks; £35.
Total so far; £143.
When it arrived;
And how it is looking after taking bits off it today.
Plans are.
Castle conversion kit.
Xerun COMBO-M6B 4274SD 2200kv Sensored Motor 150a ESC B.
Running 4s-6s lipo depending on what gearing I go with.
Big bores (bought, just waiting for them to be delivered and fitted)
Possibly mud guards.
And something wrapped around the top of the chassis to keep stones out.
Thanks for looking.
Stripped down, ready for the chassis to be sorted (last things left wouldn't come off due to majorly rounded bolts) so I've ordered all news nuts and bolts and will be drilling these out once they arrive.
Yeah it would fit but the Ansmann conversion kits are terrible.
I will possibly just make it all myself, as the Castle one I was going to go for is going to work out at about £45 posted because it's from the states.
