    Default how about more astro?

I guess you might not want to hear this.. but why don't you guys consider digging down a few feet then laying some coarse gravel then covering the whole track in second hand astro turf? I guess its a cost issue, and the fact that dirt is good fun when its dry. But having the club usable 7 days a week would be much better than having it flooded so often surely? Maybe its worth asking the regular members if they would donate towards doing this, I would consider a giving a decent donation myself if it meant the track was usable all the time.

Hi Dave, there are a lot of drainage pipes in the ground already, according to the guys who laid it out, it's not normally this bad but due to the constant rain and track work it seemed better to close it for a couple of days. Been down today bit more work done nearly there, depends if we get any more rain.
You can probably run on it but phone Carl to see first.
All astro would be no fun, no mud to clean off, nice clean car after a race,no puddles,(I can see your point!!)

    Cheers Neil.

    PLEASE SAY NO TO ASTRO

there is 365 days in the year it doesn't rain for all of them there will be times when the rain stops play and plenty of times when it doesn't

heck even some professional football matches got called off this weekend gone it has been that bad.

Dont panic.. I dont like astro. The point of the track was to have little astro as possible. The only additional astro will be on the jumps. Besides all astro when dry kills your clutch and drivetrain in no time!! lol

The track has plenty of underground drainage, including 5 soakaways (sunken wheelie bins). all this drains to the lake.

Even with Sundays rain, Carl today had the wacker going on the track. It had dried at the high points !! well until the wacker threw its rod.. oh dear.

Lets hope May 20th is a dry one Looking forward to the new bits.

Fair enough. I enjoy the dirt too. Just getting a bit sick of this rain. I heard on the radio that it was the wettest April for a century! So I suppose its inevitable that the track would be flooded hey, I noticed the golf course behind was too..

Looking forward to trying out the new layout once it dries out.
