    Thumbs up Derby's new track layout

    We have recently been rebuilding our track ready for the new season, and have come up with an interesting and challenging layout, designed by Greg Hill.

    This track will challenge the experience driver whilst still being suitable for the novice.

    Before I post the photos, a very big shout out goes to the people who have helped make this possible, GREG HILL, MARK THORNEWILL, JAMES BULLIVANT, TIM RAMSDEN(Aka Mallet), ADAM TAYLOR (aka honey monster), BREN TILLS, MICK THE MACHINE DRIVER (aka broken finger), WELSH RICH (Greg's mate), FORDY, WADE.

    The design of this track is based on a module design by Greg Hill so that at any given time the layout possibilities can be changed at a moments notice.

    The track surface is something of a little difference, it is a MULTI SURFACE track, with clay, astro turf and paving slab arrangement. This gives the opportunity to have an all year round track.

    I will let the photos do the talking!!!

    Nice one Mark, as you said, these pic's are from last weekend and we have a fair bit still to sort before we open the track up for actual racing.

    We will however be there this weekend to put most of the finishing touches to the track and then we will (hopefully) be putting a few cars down to give it it's first test... We will no doubt need to make some tweaks to check 'blind spots' and to make sure all the jumps work and that the race surface is smooth enough for proper racing (we are getting a roller this weekend after we lay the last of the astro-turf)...

    We are making these changes so we have one of the best tracks we could build for The Midlands Super Cup in June - and we will be open and ready for some practise & race events well before then. But let's finish it first ;o)

    Thanks to everyone that's already helped, and we look forward to (hopefully) finishing it off this weekend... If you fancy coming down to see it, and even help, you are most welcome - see you Sat/Sun!!

    Firstly a big thanks goes out to the following people;

    GREG HILL, MARK THORNEWILL, JAMES BULLIVANT, TIM RAMSDEN(Aka Mallet), ADAM TAYLOR (aka honey monster), BREN TILLS, MICK THE MACHINE DRIVER (aka broken finger), WELSH RICH (Greg's mate), FORDY, WADE.

    As with out these people none of the work would have been possible and the track would have been the same but with the all new change and layout of the track this is going to be a nice experience and a test for everybody

    I know exactly how much work goes into getting these things organized and endless hours of hard graft etc... You have done yourselves really pround and exceeded your limits hence why Mallet is urgent need of physiotherapist

    Looking forward to the final and finishing touches and cannot wait for the track to be open and come and have a go it has really come on in leaps and bounds and made a big improvement to the club;

    This is what the club wanted to bring it back in to the 2012 and may i wish all the best and sucess with the new venture
