Matt Lewis won the title Dan, based on a "countback"
http://www.deerdaleoffroad.com/index...pe=post&id=208
Matt = 239 countback
Ed = 228 countback
It says countback because that is what the timing software is generally set to.
As the report says this is not the case on this occasion.
Ah I see, thanks for pointing that out
Am i right in assuming that the truggy series is following the "rallycross" rules as such, with exception to rules with regards to overall dimensions, obviously.
If so............
Section 16 "CHAMPIONSHIP DETAILS" from the BRCA Rules, sub section "E"
Meaning Matt is the winner since he had a better result at the dropped meeting ?Tied Championship positions shall be resolved by firstly comparing results of discarded meetings and secondly by the number of 1st, 2nd, etc. places as may be required.
Matt has not been declared the winner
The result was declared a tie. It has been referred to the BRCA exec.
The truggy's have a different set of rules to the buggy's
I know, I helped write them many years ago.
This still seems crazy though and you are surely missing the best opportunity this series has had all year to promote itself. I had 2 press releases from LRP yesterday promoting their third place finish. You've done a great write up on the event but it's not news worthy as you can't send a picture of the winner with their trophy, something like this should be plastered all over Neo, Buggy-Sport etc.
I'm not blaming anyone here, looks and sounds like you had a great day. It's just a shame you can't capitalise on the promotional opportunity and raise awareness for next year or the class in general
2010 Truck & Truggy rules from BRCA website:
http://brca.org/BRCA/News/2010HBook/...uck%202010.pdf
Section 16 States:
Seems fairly straightforward.....however, out of interest, what are the grounds for the confusion? Is it because the points system used is different to what's specified in the rules (i.e. not 100 points for a win etc)?16. NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
[a] The Entry Fee for meetings will be set by the committee.
[b] There will be Two BRCA Truggy Championships
The National Championship - all drivers competing at an event during the season.
The Clubman Championship – Any driver who is completely independent from support of any participant in the
Model/Hobby industry. i.e. privateers. Sponsored drivers may not participate in the clubman championship as determined
by the Section Chairman or Section Secretary.
A Junior Championship will be awarded.
All Championships will run concurrently for both qualifying and finals.
[c] The winner of the A Final will receive 100 Championship Points, 2nd place will receive 99 points, third place will
receive 98 points, fourth place will receive 97 points, etc., down to the final place. The top qualifier, running as No. 1 in
the A Final will receive 1 extra point.
[d] 2 out of 3 of Championship meeting scores will count towards overall placing rounded up or down to the nearest whole number.
[e] Tied Championship positions shall be resolved by firstly comparing results of discarded meetings and secondly by the number of 1st, 2nd, etc. places as may be required.
[f] If any driver withdraws from a meeting before the final they have qualified for has run, their place will remain open.
[g] A top qualifier point gained where the meeting result is part of a driver's discard will not be counted.
Regardless of the outcome, congrats to both drivers!
