NOW THAT WE WERE HEADED INTO THE CHRISTMAS BREAK FROM WORK AND TIME TO RELAX I DECIDED THAT I WOULD SPEND MY TIME WISELY REBUILDING THE INTECH BR-5 READY FOR THE NEW YEAR, BUT AFTER 3 DAYS I WAS ALREADY BORED AND GETTING WITHDRAWL SYSTOMS FROM RACING, SO I GRABBED A LIFT FROM A MATE AND HEADED OVER TO STOKE NITRO FOR A ROUND OF THE NITRUX WINTER SERIES.
BEFORE THE MEETING I SOFTENED THE CAR RIGHT UP FROM AIR ROLE BARS TO SHOCK OILS AND DIFF OILS, MY FIRST PRACTICE OUT ON TRACK WAS BRILLIANT AND WAS AMAZED HOW MUCH STEERING I HAD NOW RUNNING PURPLE FRONT SPRINGS AND THE 2.2MM ANTI ROLE BAR.
SO WITH THIS I STUCK WITH THE SETUP FOR ROUND 1 AND QUALIFYED IN THE TOP TEN WHICH I WAS FAIRLY HAPPY WITH. INTO ROUND 2 I WAS WATCHING PREVIOUS RUNS AND NOTICED HOW THE TRACK WAS STARTING TO DRY UP, SO I THEN ADJUSTED THE KICK UP AND WENT TO MINI PINS, IN THE 2ND RUN I THEN HAD FAR TOO MUCH STEERING AND FOUND THE CAR QUITE A HANDFULL BUT STILL MADE 12TH IN ROUND, I KNEW I HAD TO IMPROVE TO TRY AND MAKE THE TOP TEN SO THEN BACK BACK TO A STIFFER FRONT ANTI ROLE BAR AND WHITE SPRINGS AND HEY PRESTO THE CAR WAS PERFECT, I MADE A COUPLE OF MISTAKES IN ROUND 3 THOUGH LEAVING ME 8TH OVERALL FOR THE GRID IN THE A-MAIN.
SO MEANWHILE I HELPED OTHER FELLOW INTECH DRIVERS IN THE LOWER FINALS AND WATCHED HOW WELL THEY WERE GETTING ON, FROM THIS I FOUND THE TRACK WAS LOSING GRIP SO RIGHT BEFORE THE FINALS I CHANGED TO ANGLES TO GET THE LOST GRIP BACK AND TRY TO MAKE A TOP 3 FINISH AS IN QUALIFYING MY FASTEST LAP WAS ONLY .2 OF A SECOND OFF THE POLE MAN.
GETTING TO THE START OF MY FINAL I HAD TROUBLE WITH THE MODULE ON MY RADIO AND COULD NOT FIND WHY IT WOULD NOT TURN ON, I THEN CHANGED TO SPEKTRUM QUICKLY TO MAKE THE GRID AND I WAS OFF, I STARTED TO MAKE MY WAY THROUGH INTO 4TH POSITION BUT WAS STRUCK BY TERRIBLE INTEREFERANCE AND ENDED UP BREAKING MY CAR 5MINUTES IN . I GUESS SOMETIMES THESE THINGS HAPPEN AND WILL LOOK INTO A NEW MODULE BUT AT LEAST I KNOW WHERE TO SET THE CAR UP FOR DAMP CONDITIONS.

AFTER THIS THE CAR WAS STILL SUPER CLEAN DUE TO RUNNING ON ASTRO AND DECIDED RATHER THAN TAKE IT APART TO REBUILD I WENT FOR A DAY TESTING UP AT THE NEW NITRO RC RACEWAY IN DROITWICH, ON FIRST ARRIVAL THE TRACK WITH SLIGHTLY PUDDLED AND VERY BOGGY MUD BUT NONE THE LESS A GOOD CHANCE FOR WET WEATHER TESTING AND TYRE TESTING READY FOR NATIONALS.
I WENT OUT ON THE SETUP I WAS RUNNING FROM STOKE AND TO MY SUPRISE THE CAR FELT VERY GOOD EVEN ON AGGRESSIVE ANGLE SPIKES. I CAN IN AND WENT BACK TO PURPLE FRONT SPRINGS AND THEN TESTED A RANGE OF LOUISE AND HOTBODIES TYRES UNTIL I FOUND A SET I WAS HAPPY WITH. 6 SETS OF TYRES LATER I FOUND A SET THAT COULD GENERATE GOOD GRIP AND NOT BLOCK UP IN THE WET MUD AND DECIDED TO CALL IT A DAY. THE CAR DID LOOK A MESS AND STILL BEING CLEANED FROM LAST WEEK  BUT WAS HAPPY TO SAY THAT IM NOT FEELING MORE CONFIDENT THAN EVER THAT 2012 WILL BE A GREAT YEAR FOR ME RUNNING THE INTECH AND WITH NEW PARTS ON THE HORIZON THINGS CAN ONLY GET BETTER FROM HERE ON.
