Well I decided after the amount of fun had at round 5, despite the DNF, I just had to enter round 6 for some more fun.

Talk about engine problems!!! In heat 1, just as the race started after the 4 min warm up, the Glow Plug gave out. How I managed to keep the little bugger running for 5.5 mins I don't know. Then after putting in a new plug for heat 2, we could not get top speed and she ran like a dog. Thanks to Tony Drabble having a play with the engine while I was marshalling, I managed to put in a good Heat 3 and qualified 4th in the C final. I still had to increase the tick over a little again though as she stalled while coming into the pits.

Had a really good final and was in second place for a few laps. Then a cock up on my part dropped me to 7th and then I managed to pull it back to 4th. Not bad considering this is only my second proper race with this type of car.

After all the frustrations on this little Hyper 21 engine I decided if I am going to take this racing lark serious again then things needed to change.

So, after some head scratching I decided to bite the Bullitt. To be absolutely correct, the Bullitt B218. After crying over spending how much, it took all of about 3/4 hour to swap out the Hyper 21 and install the Bullitt with JVD clutch. Running in is a breeze if you follow the Factory Team process of 10 tanks running very rich on the box. Just a word of warning, these instructions are not accurate for the newer batch of B218 engines as they have slightly shorter needles and hence need leaning out more than the default factory settings to run rich. Pinching the fuel line while on the starter box is a good trick to help getting it going easier. The whole process only takes an hour then you are ready lean it off properly ready to race.

OMG ... How fast is this engine. The performance in just out of this world and meant I had to spend the whole day re-learning how to drive round the track and be slower on many jumps. Our tripple is now a breeze to clear if you need or want to. I was clearing one table top by 15ft and had to back it down a little, lol. This is now going to be so much more fun. To be perfectly honest, the increase in performance and speed makes the car easier to drive as you are not pushing as hard to keep up with other drivers.

Decided to enter the NRS 12 series so hope to see you around some other tracks soon.
