We have now arrived a Frankley Model Car Club for round 3 of The Midlands Super Cup. I had to ask Darren Crutchley the Chairman of the club if it was possible for them to swap dates with the Derby round. It was a tough decision, but they said yes and by heck did they pull it off. They was up against all the bad weather that we had been having, and we all was having concerns on whether the pitting area was firm enough to hold up to having full size cars running on it. We had no worries, as it was solid.
Set off Saturday morning to find that we had no rain, but there was one heck of a wind on the way down, so I knew with the sun out and the wind blowing we was going to have a dry track to race on, so I had no worries there. We went down in convoy as normal with Colin & Tash, Daz and Adam, but we was missing one other car and that was Lewis and his dad Darran. Turned up on site to be greeted by Alex, Dave and Martin pointing to where our camping area was going to be. We soon got set up and Xray village got erected with plenty of space for the AE lads at the side of us. People soon got arriving, as they found that the weather was great and the track was mint. We had 40 guys up doing practice and set ups ready for race day. I had been doing a fair bit, so I had to go and lay down and rest up for a bit. Only to be woken by the bang of a buggy hitting the roof of my van, luckily missing my wife Tracey, Tash and Alex who were in the horning. The Frankley massive was soon down and sorting a catch fence out to stop anything as freak as that again happening again, to which it never did.
Sunday Morning and it was blooming beautiful outside, people turning up and setting there pitting areas up. The welcoming sounds of "look at the weather and the track looks great!" I finished setting my PA up on the rostrum for the drives and pit crew to here only, and then got on with the drivers briefing. First cars out on the track at 9 and we was off to a fine start, no problems and everything flowing smoothly. I had a good round with the last lap took away from me buy a Marshal catching me flywheel leaving me 10th overall, but that's racing and it wasn't his fault! you shouldn't need to be Marshalled at all! The Marshals are only there to help you and to do it as quickly as possible and as safely as possible.
The first round was over and done with and where was Dresch!! He forgot to put his PT in lol. Mandy had radio problems so she couldn't start, Mark Kay, Leigh Richardson, Luke Smith, Mike Peasley, Pete Freeman and Shaun Hamblett all had a DNS.

The Finals got on the way and who was these names in the H final?!! Leigh Richardson and Mark Kay, I wasn't expecting them two names being there at all. With Leigh getting off to a good start and our little Lewis holding second place even though he was poorly. Sunstroke I think? Leigh started his run of glassware from the H final through to the D final. and Mark took his glassware all the way up to the E final Lewis had to pull out and Chris Deacon took the third place spot. Mandy and Colin Hadley had been swapping dust for the last four laps only to go over the line nearly together.
- Leigh Richardson 23laps in 17-34.89
- Mark Kay 20laps in 17-05.22
- Chris Deacon 19laps in 17-22.30

Mark Kay

The G final, and Leigh Richardson and Mark Kay has got back to a good start holding first and second again. Leaving everyone else to battle it out just for the last podium. Michael 'Lezza' Letford, Mike Peasley, Kieran Cox and Stavros Costos all was in shouting distance for the third place spot.Michael and Mike was swapping places all the race and it was nothing between them lap by lap. When Michael tips over just before the finishing line Mike Peasley goes by and takes the third place spot, well done Mike and a great scrap between you two.
- Leigh Richardson 23laps in 17-18.30
- Mark Kay 23laps in 17-37.77
- Mike Peasley 20laps in 17-06.14

The F final and Leigh and Mark took off again and took the first places again. It looked Like 'Digger' Smith had settled into a good rhythm in third place and then little Brandon Tills had crept up and took it away from him and Brandon never had a real problem with his driving and took a strong third place, well done Brandon.
- Leigh Richardson 23laps in 17-07.31
- Mark Kay 23laps in 17-34.15
- Brandon Tills 21laps in 17-12.77

The E final and Leigh was off in mid pack this time and it took him a few laps until he got upto the front. Craig Drescher was up with me and a flame out after a long Marshalling saw me go down the field, so I was just having fun mixing it with the other and picking them off one by one and I had another flame out so I was well out of it now. That left the door open for Graham Grice to beet me and I'm not having that as I might have to stop racing in the Midlands lol. I thought that Ben Doyle was going to have the third place spot only to have Mark Kay to take it off of him.
- Craig Drescher 24laps in 17-10.91
- Leigh Richardson 24laps in 17-36.45
- Mark Kay 22laps in 17-45.42

The D final saw Young Robert Coatesworth shoot off into the lead until lap three when Leigh took it off of him. Then came Drescher running of into the lead again and not having any bother with anyone. Leaving Rob to stick with leigh to the end giving Rob a third place trophy, cracking run Rob.
- Craig Drescher 25laps in 17-01.76
- Leigh Richardson 23laps in 17-07.94
- Robert Coatesworth 23laps in 17-28.02

The C final saw an epic battle for the top five positions besides that Craig had run off in the lead and wasn't able to be caught by anyone. Which left Arron Girling, Abi Dean, Peter Wrigglesworth and Josh Powney to swap places throughout the race. In the end it was Arron Girling and Abi Dean that took the last two places on the podium.
- Craig Drescher 26laps in 17-28.92
- Arron Girling 23laps in 17-03.68
- Abi Dean 23laps in 17-05.46

Abi Dean

The B final and Craig was off to a good start and took the lead by lap four, he was showing everyone how a race had to be won. He was faultless lap after lap. Matthew Lawrence was holding a solid second place up until lap twenty five where it looks like he had a flame out and had to be restarted, knocking him out of contention. That then let Steve Shakespeare up into second place and third place was up for grabs. Looks like Jon Griffiths had a bad last few laps making him loose third. letting Kamil Jablonski into second only to have Jonny Roberts to snatch victory off of him on the last lap.
- Craig Drescher 33laps in 22-09.61
- Steven Shakespeare 31laps in 22-26.87
- Jonny Roberts 30laps in 22-30.48

Jonny 'Rotten' Roberts

Now to the A final and to see what everyone is about. It all started off tight with a train of buggies going around the track with Milan leading it around and a mistake saw him get swamped by everyone else and it was a hard battle to get back upto second place at lap thirty one and he kept a hold of it until the end. Colin Jackson started off in second on the grid taking the lead from the second lap until Dresch got him in his sights and went for it. He soon went past Colin making Colin look like he was going around dragging a kilo weight behind him. Craig only had the lead took off of him after he had hit the pit lane and Colin came past him, but Colin didn't have the lead for long. Looks like Colin had a problem on lap twelve and never recovered from it. Liam Galvin, Lee Bunker and Greg Hill to battle it out for third place. Craig shown us all a master class of driving with Milan snapping at his heals and Lee Bunker pulling off a solid third place.
- Craig Drescher 45laps in 30-37.97
- Milan Drogojlovic 44laps in 30-20.53
- Lee Bunker 43laps in 30-31.27
