Some very sad news came everyone's way today.
With a heavy heart im sad to inform you that Frankley's track at Boleyn Lane is to close at the end of the month.
After existing at the present site for near on ten years and after fighting through thick and thin, the club have finally succumbed to relentless vandalism and an unbelievable lack of support and red tape from the local council !!
In an age when a lot are fighting to get the youth of today out into the fresh air and away from computers and other stay at home entertainments, it beggars belief that the local authoritys have done jack shit to support the club and in actual fact, have actually made things harder by changing the rules about the access to the track and camping on site after it being there all these years. I'll go as far as to say I smell an ulterior motive, something on the lines of probably having a plan for the land and wanting the RC 'riff raff' out of the way. They will probably make the 'traveling community' that make a regular appearance more welcome than FMCC!!!
Anyway, its over and done.
The club are holding their final and race day on the 6th of March and are hoping for a bumper turnout, to bid the place and club farewell.
Try to get along and show your support, stick two fingers up to the local tax chiefs, and say adios to a great bunch of RC enthusiasts who have put their heart and sole into a great club over the years.
